Ethical travel, Glasgow to Seoul flights, and the Scotland Gin Trail: Travel agenda
Where to go and what to know
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Trunk call
Following the death of a British holidaymaker while on an elephant-back trek in Thailand earlier this week, ResponsibleTravel.com is urging travellers to consider the ethics of such trips. You can read a piece the firm's founder, Justin Francis, wrote for The Independent on Sunday on his argument against the practice at bit.ly/elephantbacktrek

The newest addition to the Las Vegas Strip will open on 4 April. It will be located between the Monte Carlo and New York-New York hotels.

British Airways will resume direct flights to Tehran this summer, having suspended the service in October 2012. Flights to the Iranian capital from Heathrow Terminal 5 will operate six times a week from 14 July, before increasing to daily in the winter.
Drink up
Swap Scotch for a different tipple on the new Scotland Gin Trail. Available as a downloadable map, the trail features 12 locations, from the Highlands and Islands to Glasgow and Edinburgh, where visitors can learn more about the spirit from craft distillers and city gin bars.
