From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Q I'm looking to travel to Goa in November or December. Which airlines fly direct to Goa from London? I don’t want to change planes.

A For flight-only deals from London to Goa, the best bargains are often via Doha on Qatar Airways or via Dubai on Emirates.
The two big holiday companies both offer direct options in November and December, both from Gatwick. Thomas Cook Airlines flies out on Sundays and returns on Mondays, and Thomson Airways flies out on Saturdays and back on Sundays. The timings on Thomson suit me better (overnight outbound, with a civilised daytime flight home); Thomas Cook has a daytime flight out (arriving shortly after midnight), and comes back overnight.
Fares look fairly high at present: I’m seeing prices of around £600 return. These could come down nearer the time. Alternatively, if you do not have accommodation already, then a package costs little more than the flight-only price.
