A British Airways flight attendant has been suspended after putting a video of herself sniffing her tights and unbuttoning her shirt online.

The female member of cabin crew filmed herself in her uniform after a flight, asking viewers to ignore how “rough” she looks after the journey.

“You want me to smell my shoes and tights,” she says, before removing her tights and claiming to have been wearing them all day “with no knickers”.

She then proceeds to sniff her tights and two pairs of shoes, before undoing several buttons of her shirt.

The video was uncovered by the Mirror and the unnamed staff member has since been suspended by BA.

A spokesperson for the airline says: “We hold our colleagues to very high standards and expect them to behave responsibly.

“When this doesn’t happen we will always take the appropriate action.”

While it is unknown whether the flight attendant sold the tights or shoes, there is a growing trend for cabin crew selling their used garments online.

A search on eBay reveals a number of used tights, often modelled on a plane with a picture of a pair of legs stretched out by the emergency exit door.

The most expensive pair is priced at £75 for used black tights, size XL.

It’s not the first time a member of flight crew has come under fire for “unacceptable” behaviour.

In March 2018, an easyJet pilot was reprimanded after he was filmed dancing in the cock-pit during a flight.

In a post uploaded to Snapchat, first officer Michel Castellucci could be seen doing paperwork while the plane was in cruise control. Upon realising that he was being filmed, Castellucci began to “dance” in time with an animated owl superimposed onto the phone screen.

An easyJet spokeswoman said of the incident: “Whilst at no point was the safety of the passengers compromised, this falls well short of the high standards easyJet expects of its pilots.

“It is not acceptable and is not representative of the thousands of highly professional pilots who work for the airline. We take this issue seriously and as such the pilots have been suspended (in line with our procedures) pending a disciplinary investigation.”
