Your support makes all the difference.China and Japan could be travelers' best bets for a good value end-of-year vacation, according to figures from travel booking specialist Wotif.com.
Average hotel rates in Guangzhou, Osaka and Tokyo are currently lower in December than October, the site said October 8, offering travelers some savings - although in other areas such as Phuket, average accommodation rates almost double from THB 4,530 (€109) in October to THB 8,143 (€195) in December.
Wotif.com's Matthew Varley advises that while current prices in most parts of Asia and Australia look good, it's never too early to book.
"From October to December, in most markets we don't observe a significant spike in hotel prices, which is good news for travellers looking to celebrate Christmas and New Year overseas."
"That said, this is just an early snapshot of prices in the next three months. While they haven't risen much as yet, we expect to see more rapid increases as December approaches and hotels start to book out. "
Data for this month showed that the average price of a room in Hanoi was the cheapest of Wotif.com's 23 most popular destinations, averaging only $81 (€58).
Thai capital Bangkok was the next cheapest with an average rate of $93 (€67), followed by Vietnam's largest city Ho Chi Minh, at $96 (€69) per night.
Japan's capital Tokyo is currently the most expensive city on the index of leading Asian destinations, with an average rate of $276 (€199) - Singapore is in second place at $242 (€174)
