Boutique Hotel San Roque is a 50-minute drive from Tenerife North Airport, and within an hour and five minutes of Tenerife South Airport. Tour operators were sceptical about whether Garachico was worth more than a day trip but travel writers' positive reviews of the port's first hotels convinced tourists to sleep over. Alfresco Restaurant Anturium next to the swimming pool combines buffet breakfast with table service. Vegans are catered for, including an interesting stir-fried-vegetables-topped-with-avocado-and-tomato combo; lunches are light with fresh salads the order of the day. It's more formal fare at dinner. Heaters are on hand.
