"Hog" fans need look no further than this converted 100-year-old warehouse. Just a kick start from the Harley-Davidson Museum, the hotel has been designed with bikers in mind. Thoughtful touches in the rugged, style-driven rooms include hooks for heavy leathers and storage facilities for boots and helmets. Ride routes are provided, bikes are available to rent and a Cook Custom Chopper is displayed in the lounge.

Le Méridien Lingotto, Turin
Occupying a section of the former Fiat Lingotto car factory, this stylish hotel combines modern architecture and motoring heritage. When the factory closed in the 1970s, celebrated architect Renzo Piano was enlisted to regenerate the vast building. Today, the hotel rooms feature the original glass factory windows, while the rooftop Fiat test track has been converted into a jogging trail. At ground level, diners at the hotel's Torpedo restaurant gaze upon the hotel's park-scale courtyard garden.

This country-house hotel, tucked away in the in Nithsdale countryside, has just 10 cosy rooms. As well as an acclaimed restaurant serving "peasant food" inspired by Elizabeth David and Jane Grigson, guests can enjoy the hotel's organic vegetable garden, or stride out on country walks. Built on the site of the iconic Brooklands racing circuit, this new hotel offers the ideal base for a racing pilgrimage. The art deco-inspired hotel is near the Brooklands Museum and Mercedes-Benz World, and parts of the racing track are visible in the lobby.
