Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Harry Potter tour at Warner Bros Studio has announced that it will be undergoing a 20,000ft expansion to include the original Hogwarts Express steam engine and a complete recreation of the famous Platform 9 ¾.
The Hogwarts Express used in filming, a British steam train named 'Olton Hall', will be returned to the Warner Bros Studio Tour to be put on display. Opening on the 19th March, visitors will be able to walk along the train’s adjoining carriage and sit in the interior carriage set that was used during filming.
Although seventeen years has passed since the release of J.K Rowling’s first novel, the franchise remains as popular as ever. The books have sold over 450 million copies and the films have made approximately £4.7 billion at the box office, making it one of the most successful franchises in history.

But what if you can’t wait till 2016? Well there are a few places you can visit to relive your favourite magical moments. From a Hogwarts-themed hotel to wizard school in a castle, there are multiple destinations to keep your Potter needs satisfied.
