For holidaymakers looking for memorable and exciting holidays, Florida and its impressive theme parks are the perfect choice — with LEGOLAND Florida Resort being a great place for the family adventures to begin.

Just 45 minutes south from Orlando’s theme parks and the same distance east from Downtown Tampa, the 150-acre park in Winter Haven — currently the largest LEGOLAND Park in the world — is on the site of the former Cypress Gardens, considered to be Florida’s first theme park. Many of its cherished attractions such as the original botanical garden dating from 1936 can still be enjoyed.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is packed with more than 50 rides, shows and attractions inspired by popular LEGO brands and characters, designed to immerse children aged from two to 12 in a world of LEGO. This is where family holiday memories are made, to be recalled and retold time and again. There’s so much to do, the main challenge at this holiday paradise is knowing how to fit in all the rides and which to try first.

There are 15 themed lands including LEGO NINJAGO WORLD, LEGO City, LEGO Kingdoms, DUPLO Valley and Heartlake City. It’s worth planning at least a few days here to make sure you don’t miss out on some of the more popular rides and attractions, including the resort’s newest experience, the Great LEGO Race virtual reality coaster, which enhances roller-coaster thrills with virtual reality technology to provide an unmissable experience for children.

Indulge in warm Granny Smith apple fries, dusted with cinnamon and sugar and served with a sweet whipped cream dipping sauce. Try it on its own, or à la mode

You can also get absorbed in multiple 4D movies, or take time to meet with The LEGO Movie characters including Emmet, Wyldstyle and Benny. If your kids are keen on building their own LEGO structures at home they’ll be thrilled when they visit the park’s Miniland USA with its miniature replicas of American landmarks made from millions of LEGO bricks. Take a look at the White House and the US Capitol building, the New York City skyline and Statue of Liberty, then move on to the Las Vegas strip and the Kennedy Space Center complete with a space shuttle.

Then it’s on to the adjacent LEGO Star Wars Miniland Model Display with scenes from the films created with 1.5-million LEGO bricks. LEGOLAND Florida Resort is also home to one of only four LEGOLAND Water Parks in the world. Open seasonally, it’s the perfect introduction to water parks for younger children. Build a LEGO raft as you float down the lazy river, race your own LEGO boat against other guests, take on several thrilling tube and body slides or relax in a private cabana.

And when it’s time to take a break from all the excitement of the theme park, the adventure continues at LEGOLAND Florida Resort Hotel, just steps from the park entrance, where pirate-themed rooms feature a treasure hunt, LEGO models and a separate sleeping area for children. Or choose LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, just 500 metres from the main resort.

Stay in beach-themed bungalow guest rooms, and enjoy facilities including a year-round outdoor pool and sun terrace as well as the Bricks Beach Bar, ideal for casual drinks and snacks. Stay at either and you will get complimentary breakfast as well as free parking, both at your hotel and at the theme park. What’s more, as the Florida theme park experts, your local Virgin Holidays store can answer all your LEGOLAND questions before you book — ensuring parents can stay as relaxed as the kids on holidays here.
