Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Along with big name games such as LittleBigPlanet 2, Gran Turismo 5, and Pro Evolution Soccer 11, Sony is promising to unveil two previously unannounced games at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS), September 16-19 - one game for the PlayStation 3 home console and one for the PlayStation Portable.
The PlayStation 3's Move controllers are coming out on September 15 and 19 in Europe and North America respectively, and on October 21 in Japan. Sony is also involved in television manufacture, and so would like to see 3DTV and 3D gaming take off.
As a result, many of the games exhibited by Sony throughout the event will be compatible with Move, 3D TVs, or both: Among those are Start The Party, Sports Champions, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 3, and The Sly Collection, a remastering of three PlayStation 2 games for the PlayStation 3.
Confirmed PSP games include Monster Hunter Freedom 3, Yakuza: Black Panther, God of War: Ghosts of Sparta, and Patapon 3.
Many PlayStation 3 fans have been waiting for more information about a game called The Last Guardian, the third in a loose trilogy starting with the critically acclaimed ICO and Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 2.
The Last Guardian's most recent trailer was first shown a year ago at the previous Tokyo Game Show in 2009. With a 2011 release slated, and a few hints coming from the game's designer, TGS 2010 looks like the ideal time for further revelations.
There is also the possibility that the rumored PS3 remasters of ICO and Colossus will be confirmed, following on from the trend set by the God of War Collection and now The Sly Collection.
Sony's rival Microsoft is in charge of this year's keynote presentation, while Nintendo is not expected to appear, preferring to organize its own press event away from the TGS spotlight.
For Sony's full list of games at TGS 2010, see the exhibition guide on PlayStation.com either in the original Japanese or via Google Translate.
