From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The team behind the Serious Sam games isn't content to leave high-profile, low-brow spoofs Bulletstorm and Duke Nukem Forever without further competiton, as Serious Sam 3: BFE is confirmed for a summer 2011 release on PC and consoles.

Known for its satirical crude humor and relentlessly swarming enemies, the series follows gun-toting Sam through various historical locations as he repels hordes of extra-terrestrial invaders.

Following on from The First Encounter, The Second Encounter and recent high definition remakes for Xbox 360 and PC, Serious Sam 3: BFE promises a return of hallmark arcade action.

That means the same arcade action, hordes of enemies old and new, and multiplayer mayhem for "up to 16 players" - for reference, the Serious Sam HD remakes introduced a 16-player mode on PC and up to 4 players on the 360.
