Your support makes all the difference.Samsung has announced that the latest model of their flagship Galaxy series will be unveiled on 20 June in London.
Their current phone in the Galaxy series, the S4, was released only three months ago, and recently became the best-selling Android smartphone with 10 million units sold in a month. Leaks from the company have suggested that the follow up will be a Galaxy S4 Mini.
The Mini was first spotted when it listed on the company’s app store by accident and would offer a more compact version of the S4. The phone would follow Samsung’s other ‘Mini’ iterations of its phones, including the Galaxy S III Mini, released after the Galaxy S III.
The S4 Mini would shrink the screen size to 4.3 inches (from the regular’s 5 inches). Rumours also suggest an 8 megapixel camera and a 1.66GHz processor.
The launch on the 20th will also feature Samsung’s ATIV ultrabook, a high-end laptop designed to replace the company’s Series 9 range.
The new Mini will be sure to heighten the battle for the smartphone market between Apple and Samsung. Reports this month showed that Samsung sold 64.7 million smartphones in the first quarter of 2013 (30.8 per cent of the global market), with Apple coming in second place, selling 38.8 million smartphones (an 18.2 per cent market share).
