Nintendo was reported its first fall in profits in six years after sales of its popular Wii console hit the rocks.
The Japanese company said its operating profits fell by 35 per cent to ¥356.5bn (£2.5bn) in the 12 months to the end of March. Sales were down by more than a fifth to ¥1.4 trillion.
Nintendo said its performance was adversely affected "by a price reduction on Wii hardware, fewer strong Wii software titles in the first half and the appreciation of the yen".
