From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Lenovo has just unveiled the Moto Z2 Force, a phone with a screen you can’t break.
It’s designed to take on the best handsets on the market, and will cost €799 (£735).
It features a 5.5-inch, 2,560 x 1,440 screen, which is protected by “ShatterShield” technology.
Motorola introduced ShatterShield in 2015 and it’s been proven to work incredibly well, ensuring the screen doesn’t break no matter what you throw at it.
It can, however, succumb to scratches and bumps.
While the Z2 looks nice, it lacks the wow factor of rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S8.
It feels much more solid though, thanks to its aluminium unibody. This would definitely be a good choice for anyone with clumsy hands.
The only drawback is that it’s not fully waterproof. Motorola instead says it has a “water repellent nano-coating”.
Like many other high-end phones on the market, the Z2 uses a dual-camera.
It comprises a pair of 12-megapixel sensors, and lets you play around with depth effects on your photos.
You can also play around with a 360-degree camera Moto Mod, which clips to the back of the Z2.
On the front, meanwhile, is a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens that should help you squeeze more people into your selfies.
The battery has a 2,730mAh capacity, and can be powered up really quickly thanks to TurboPower charging.
The Z2 Force will receive the Android Oreo update when it's released, and is available in black, gold and grey colour schemes.
