Winners were chosen across 19 categories that included the best mobile software, applications services and handsets released during 2009.
The awards ceremony took place on February 16 during the GSMA 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
HTC's Hero, an android-powered smartphone was the winner of the best device while Apple CEO Steve Jobs won the title of Mobile Personality of the year. VNL's solar-powered GSM base station took home the award for the Green Mobile Award for Best Green Programme, Product or Initiative.
"A remarkable 500 entries from across the global mobile ecosystem were submitted this year, all of an extremely high calibre," said Rob Conway, CEO and Member of the Board, GSMA.
"The demand for new ways to use mobile technology continues to evolve and accelerate at a breathtaking speed, and it is genuinely inspiring to see such inventive thinking and exciting ideas showcased at Mobile World Congress."
