Half of console-owning households in the USA keep their games machine in the living room, 20 percent commandeer the kids' bedroom, ten percent go for the master bedroom and one percent pop it on the patio or porch, according to research released March 24 by trend tracking firm Nielsen.
The Nintendo Wii finds a place in the family room 59 percent of the time, and is least likely to be banished to the children's bedroom.
By contrast, 28 percent of Xbox 360 systems are in the kids' room, with 42 percent occupying space under the family TV.
