Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. As I write this there's still three quarters of an hour left on Bethesda's countdown clock, but confirmation that Fallout 4 is happening has leaked early.
It seems somebody at the developer accidentally published the Fallout 4 website a little early. It's been taken down now, but apparently briefly showed a video along with a picture of a Brotherhood of Steel trooper and a dog. This will probably all go back online once the timer expires and we'll know more about what to expect from the game.
For now, the transient site did tell us that the game will only be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, meaning Bethesda is boldly leaving the last-gen behind and we can expect a lush, suitably dishevelled new world to explore in the game.
A proper, in-depth look at Fallout 4, which is yet to get a release date, is set to come during the E3 conference on June 14, the company said. There it will show "the world premiere of the game", and stream it live via Twitch and YouTube.
