Dragons' Den crashes young entrepreneur's website
A gaming website set up by an entrepreneurial teenager crashed last night after it was featured on the popular reality TV show Dragons' Den.
Jessica Ratcliffe appeared before the BBC programme's panel in the hope of attracting a £65,000 investment from one of the five Dragons.
But while she walked away empty handed - with one judge, Duncan Bannatyne, urging her to go back to university and another, Peter Jones, offering her a future job - her website, Gaboom.co.uk, was unavailable for up to two hours during and after the show's airing at 9pm.
The website allows users to swap, buy and sell videogames. It automatically matches customers based on the games they have and want.
She told the Dragons she had put her business management degree on hold to pursue the business.
GaBoom!'s Facebook page was busy last night as users left messages of support and offers of help. Many commented on the site being down.
Miss Ratcliffe wrote: "Over 10,000 hits since the TV show. Sorry guys, we weren't expecting that!"
