The name of 44-year-old American comedian "Greg Giraldo" has taken the top position on Twitter's most talked about topics on the morning of September 30.
Giraldo died on September 29 after a suspected accidental overdose of prescription pills and Twitter users are passing on their condolences to his friends and family.
In second place is the name of Spanish Tour de France winner "Alberto Contador."
The news of Contador's doping scandal is traveling quickly across the microblogs as people tweet, "Alberto Contador tested positive for clenbuterol at the Tour de France," "Rather shocked about the Alberto Contador news this morning. Can this be right?!" and "Gutted to hear about Alberto Contador this morning. And now he's blaming additives in food."
"Doping" is trending in ninth place while the memes "#octoberwish," "#neverthat" and "#bishopeddielongringtones" take third, fourth and fifth places on the charts.
"In honor of the Flintstones 50th anniversary, Google not only created a doodle but their servers will be powered by bare feet for the day" tweeted one microblogger explaining why "Flintstones" is trending in sixth place.
The Indian city of "Ayodhya" is in seventh place, the name of Bishop "Eddie Long" is in eighth place, and the "Paris Motor Show" is promoted in tenth place.
