Actor Tony Curtis, who starred in films such as The Boston Strangler and played alongside Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot and Kirk Douglas in Spartacus, died on September 29 at the age of 85.
Standup comedian Greg Giraldo also died last week on September 25. The comedy star is thought to have died of a drug overdose. His final performance, in which he cracks jokes about Tiger Woods, is available to watch online.
Search term "ayodhya verdict" refers to an ongoing process in the Indian courts to settle a centuries old land dispute between Hindus and Muslims. The final verdict was delivered on September 30, after several delays.
International golf competition the Ryder Cup and European lottery EuroMillions were also the subjects of popular search terms last week. On Friday, October 1, the jackpot for EuroMillions was estimated to be €125 million.
