Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The bulky boxed edition comes packed with an action figure, behind-the-scenes DVD, art book, extra mission, and in-game bonus items.
Australasians will be able to pick up the pack a day earlier due to the game's August 25 regional release.
The Collector's Edition is a step up from the game's previously announced (and internationally available) Augmented Edition, which drops the figurine and makes extra in-game content a retailer-specific pre-order incentive.
No price guidance was given by publisher Square Enix in the announcement, but the Augmented Edition is pushing €80/£60/$120 AUD and Play Arts Kai's figurines generally cost around $50 or €40 on their own.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is third in the cyberpunk Deus Ex series. The 360, PS3 and PC game allows players to complete missions using stealth, combat, technology, social skills, or a combiniation of all four.
It's to reach retail a couple of weeks after Madden NFL 12 and ahead of Resistance 3, Rage, and Gears of War 3.
