Apple iPhone 6: Rumours of two new screen sizes, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch

Your support makes all the difference.Apple’s iPhone 6 is likely to be a super-slim version featuring a 4.7-inch display, with a second model with a 5.5-inch screen to be launched later, according to new reports.
It’s long been thought that the next iPhone would follow the global trend for larger screens, whilst a launch of two separate models (similar to 2013’s launch of the iPhone 5S and 5C) could help Apple cater to multiple markets.
Phablets (handsets with screens of 5.0-inch and up) have been most successful in Asian-Pacific markets with smartphones such as Samsung’s Galaxy Note series which features a 5.7-inch screen.
Even the ‘regular’ flagships have been moving in the same direction, with the recent launch of the HTC One (M8) confirming the trend with a 5.1-inch screen. The current screen size on the iPhone 5s and 5c is 4-inches.
It’s expected that the new iPhone 6 will be launched in September and will also feature in-cell touch panel technology, meaning that the touch component in the display is incorporated directly into the screen instead of overlaid on top of it.
This would make for a thinner construction and has led to comparisons between the as-yet unannounced iPhone and Apple’s iPad Air, the updated tablet launched last year with a slimmer profile and lighter weight.
However, it’s also thought that the difficulty of manufacturing this in-cell technology means that the mass production of the larger 5.5-inch screen size is likely to start several months later.
