When does the Apple event start? How to watch the new iPhone launch live stream

It's become easier and easier to watch live

Apple's iPhone event is about to begin, and you can watch the whole thing live.

At 10am local time (see below for details on when exactly that is where you are), Tim Cook will take the stage in the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple's headquarters and kick everything off. It will probably last for about an hour and a half or two hours – during which Apple will show off products that it has accidentally already revealed to the world.

As ever, it will be hosting a livestream. And this year it will be doing so in more ways that ever before.

There was once a time when actually watching an Apple event was difficult: requiring an Apple computer or phone, and navigating to a specific part of the company's website. (Before that, it was even more difficult: often Apple didn't even livestream its events at all.)

But with time that problem has mostly dissolved. Nowadays, it's relatively easy to watch the event – you can do so from Twitter, or even on a Windows PC.

If you want to watch it on your computer or phone, which is probably the simplest way to do it, you can just go to the special event part of Apple's website. As long as you have an Apple product or a relatively recent Windows computer, you should be able to watch everything fine.

You can also watch along on the Apple TV, which should have automatically installed a special app to do so. Just head there at the requisite time.

And this year you can do so from Twitter. Actually watching the livestream there is a little complicated, because Apple doesn't run its Twitter account like anyone else – you'll have to go to the specific tweet, here, and like it.

As for when everything gets started, it will 10am pacific, 1pm eastern time, or 6pm in the UK. Perhaps the easiest way is simply to look at this countdown, which will tell you how long is left to go.

Apple is expected to unveil three new iPhones, an update to the Apple Watch, and a whole host of new accessories.
