From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The two best teams in the National Basketball Association meet tonight in a game that promises to be one for the ages.

The Golden State Warriors (40-4) host the San Antonio Spurs (38-6) in a game that sees two historically good teams match up.

In fact, in NBA history two teams with such impressive records have never met this deep into the regular season.

Last season's Champion Warriors go into the game as slight favourites, especially with San Antonio's future Hall of Fame centre Tim Duncan out with a sore knee.

The Warriors started the season with 24 consecutive victories, a new record, and are on pace to perhaps break the all-time record set by Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls in the 1995-96 season.

That team won 72 of 82 games, but led by reigning MVP Stephen Curry, who is having an historic year, the Warriors have a brilliant shot at breaking the mark.

Despite a first round play-off exit last season, Gregg Popovich and his San Antonio team have again reinvented themselves.

Kawhi Leonard is now arguably the best two-way player in the game, and would be in the MVP conversation if not for Curry's brilliance, while big free agent signing LaMarcus Aldridge has settled in nicely alongside the ageing 'Big Three' of Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.
