Fight report
Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor in the fourth round of their eagerly anticipated lightweight title fight – before vaulting over the Octagon to attack his rival’s corner.
Nurmagomedov landed several blows on McGregor’s sparring partner, Dillon Danis, before being dragged away by Las Vegas police officers.
Meanwhile, one of Nurmagomedov’s cornermen took advantage of the chaos to enter the Octagon and land several strikes on McGregor, who was still sat on the canvas having been choked out by the undefeated Russian.
Security guards and police officers took several minutes to bring the situation under control, with a dazed McGregor then rushed out of the T-Mobile Arena.
Nurmagomedov then became involved in a heated altercation with UFC president Dana White, before also being escorted away from the Octagon by a convoy of police officers.
Irish fans surged towards Nurmagomedov, throwing drinks at the lightweight champion with several attempting to reach him.
The carnage overshadowed an almost flawless victory for Nurmagomedov, who dominated the fight before submitting McGregor late into the fourth round.
He will now likely face criminal charges for his behaviour, with at least one member of his team appearing to exit the T-Mobile Arena in handcuffs.
