Mayweather posted a fight poster of him and McGregor with the text 'Mayweather-McGregor 2, 2020' to his Instagram page.
The pair met back in August 2017 when McGregor made his boxing debut, capturing the attention of the world and both have since said they would be open to a rematch.
Mayweather has been in constant contact with UFC president Dana White about the pair working together, but it's unknown whether it would be in boxing or MMA.
The post came after McGregor stopped Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone at UFC 246 inside just 40 seconds of the first round.
Mayweather beat McGregor in Las Vegas two and a half years ago, with the Irish fighter since admitting he wants to win a world title in boxing.
