From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The Irishman previously fought undefeated lightweight champion Nurmagomedov in October 2018, losing in the fourth round via a neck crank submission.
McGregor will now face 36-13 veteran Donald Cerrone on January 18 but has already set his sights on a rematch.
“He is trembling,” McGregor told his website The Mac Life.
“That man is trembling. He doesn’t want it. He doesn’t want it. You get it. He’s trying not to lose it again. I just smell sh*t. That’s all it is. He’s afraid, and that’s it.”
McGregor added that UFC president Dana White was in favour of the bout.
“Everyone wants it. The boss wants it. [UFC President] Dana [White] wants it. We all want it. He can run, but he cannot hide. I look forward to it.”
