Former world heavyweight champions, including Britain's Lennox Lewis, have criticised the World Boxing Council's decision to rank Mike Tyson as the No 1 contender despite his ring absence of nearly four years. Tyson has re-entered the WBC's ratings at the top shortly after being released from prison where he served three years on a rape conviction.
Lewis, Evander Holyfield and Michael Moorer all expressed resentment at Tyson, who has not fought since June 1991, apparently being given preference.
