Touchdown-free end zone
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

John Carney kicked four field goals and Dwayne Harper had three interceptions as the San Diego Chargers defeated the Oakland Raiders 12-6 in the first NFL game without a touchdown in more than a year.
The last NFL contest in which neither team reached the end zone was 20 November 1994, when the Arizona Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Eagles 12-6.
Carney made field goals of 39, 24, 28, and 38 yards as the Chargers (5- 7) handed the Raiders (8-4) a rare defeat.
Art Monk, the NFL's all-time reception leader, signed a free-agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday and might play against the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday.
The terms were not revealed, and Monk, 37, said that he is close to becoming the part-owner of an advertising agency in the Washington area.
