The rain is expected to ease off in time for men's quarter-final action at Wimbledon on Wednesday but even if it does not defending champion Andy Murray and seven-times winner Roger Federer will have the Centre Court roof to keep them dry.

The roof showed its worth again on Tuesday with Johanna Konta's thrilling win over Simona Halep taking place during a downpour.

Konta is the first British woman through to a Wimbledon semi-final since 1977.

Murray is first up on Centre Court against American Sam Querrey followed by Federer's tough test against Canadian Milos Raonic.

The Number One court will also have a retractable roof in place by the 2019 tournament but for now Novak Djokovic, who faces Tomas Berdych, will have to hope the weather is kind to him.

Also on Number One, Luxembourg's Gilles Muller, who upset Rafa Nadal in a marathon five setter, is hoping to make seventh-seed Marin Cilic his next victim.

Raonic dumps a forehand into the net to lose the opening point of his service game but an unreturnable serve follows as he levels the game up at 15-15. Federer then shanks a backhand pass before another unreturnable serve brings up two game points for Raonic, of which the Canadian needs just one as he slaps an ace out wide.

A big serve-forehand combo sandwiched in between a couple of unreturnable serves bring up three game points for Federer... and he needs just the one as he fires down another unreturnable serve down the T.

At 40-15 up on his own serve Raonic hits the net with what looks like an easy volley before Federer hauls the game to deuce with a return winner. Raonic makes no mistake with the next volley that comes his way but misses a forehand as his Swiss opponent again wrestles the game back to deuce. Federer misses the mark with his next two returns as Raonic manages to hold.

Djokovic retires!

Novak Djokovic's Wimbledon campaign is over as he retires from his quarter-final match against Tomas Berdych on Court One while trailing 7-6 2-0. The Serb had been struggling with an elbow injury and had the trainer out at the end of the opening set.

Raonic loses the opening point of the game but wins the next four to hold and guarantee himself a third set tie-break at the very least.

Federer starts the game off with an unreturnable serve before a defensive shot by Raonic sails long. The Canadian wins the next point with some good net play but another unreturnable serve by Federer followed by a cross-court backhand winner seals the game for Federer. This third set will be decided by a tie-break.

Federer reacts to another supreme display

On the early exits of Nadal, Djokovic and Murray: "We always knew the danger was there for either one of us. I hope that Novak's ok with his injury, Rafa fought until the very end and Andy also wasn't looking very good at the end with his injury. I hope for Andy and Novak that they will recover for the American summer and play their hearts out over there. I'm convinced Rafa will be back very strong.

"It's unfortunate that they've all gone but there are other great stories in the tournament. I predicted Cilic could have a really deep run here and he's proving to do so. Gilles Muller's story I thought was incredible and Querrey already beat Djokovic last year. Berdych has been here before in the finals and he's a good friend of mine so it's nice to see different guys maybe but I'm happy that my dream run continues and we'll see now what happens next."

On his incredible level of play: "I'm very pleased with how I'm playing. You can always play a little bit better but you can definitely play a lot worse. You don't feel the same every day and the conditions changed today. You adjust to the conditions. It's like going to work... you can't produce the best every single day but you have to make sure that your average is as high as possible every single day and I think I'm doing a great job this week."
