Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The men's singles quarter-finals headline Wednesday's action at Wimbledon as both Roger Federer and Andy Murray take to Centre Court in their bid to reach the last-four of this year's championship.
After the women took centre stage on Tuesday, Wednesday sees the turn of tha last eight remaining male competitors to battle it out, fully aware that the world No 1 and favourite Novak Djokovic is already out of the tournament. Federer opens proceedings on Centre Court when he takes on Marin Cilic at 1pm, with Murray set to follow as he clashes with Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
On Court 1, Djokovic's conqueror Sam Queerey faces sixth-seed Milos Raonic, with the final quarter-final seeing Tomas Berdych and Lucas Pouille collide.
There's plenty of British interest in the various doubles' matches on Wednesday too, with Johanna Konta, Jonathan Marray and Anna Smith in action on Court 2 and Jamie Murray featuring on Court 18.
