Viktor Troicki, the Serbian tennis star, unleashed a remarkable tirade against the umpire following a controversial decision which ultimately contributed to his second-round exit from Wimbledon.

With the match finely poised at two sets apiece – and the fifth standing at 5-3 to Albert Ramos-Viñolas, the Spaniard was awarded match point for a serve which Troicki believed to be out.

The 30-year-old then led an impassioned plea with the umpire, brandishing the ball to prove none of the white paint had been transferred in an effort to prove it had not touched the line.

He screamed: “No white, look at it! Come on, please, look at it!” As the umpire attempted to explain his decision, which eventually led to an early departure from the championships, Troicki roared: “What? What?! The worst umpire ever in the world!”

Also smashing the ball above the stands and out into the SW19 heavens, the Serbian, who won his first ATP singles title at the 2010 Kremlin Cup, added: “What are you doing? Did you see the ball? You saw bad!”

Troicki then appeared resigned to his fate, handing Ramos-Viñolas with victory with a wayward final shot. He continued: “Do you know what you did? Do you know what you did?
