Wimbledon is set to be hit by a heatwave this week with temperatures predicted to reach 33C on Wednesday.

Those heading to the Championships have been urged to think ahead and use common sense, with advice to wear hats, apply sun cream and drink plenty of water.

While 500ml bottles of Evian can be purchased for £2.30 on site, spectators are permitted to enter the grounds with as much water as they wish, although cannot carry it using a flask. The only restriction on liquids applies to alcohol with a limit of one bottle of wine or two 500ml cans of beer per person.

There are also 13 water fountains dotted around the All England Club.

Despite the Championships coinciding with what could be the hottest day of the year so far organisers say there are no special plans in place with Wimbledon already geared up for all eventualities.
