The world number one holds 16 Grand Slam titles and is aiming to top Rafael Nadal (18) and Roger Federer's (20) tally.
"It's still a very long way ahead of me," Djokovic said. "It does also put a certain level of responsibility to me as well, because I am aiming to do that."
The Serbian is favourite to add to his Wimbledon title in the final Grand Slam of the season and must first get past Carballes Baena in the opening round, an opponent he has never played.
The two-week tournament will not be shown live on television, so here’s everything you need to know about how to watch it.
When is it?
Djokovic faces Carballes Baena at the Arthur Ashe Stadium after Zarina Diyas and Ashleigh Barty play on the show court.
Diyas and Bartey start at 17:00 BST, which means Djokovic and Carballes Baena are likely to be on around 18:15.
How can I watch it?
Amazon Prime have the UK broadcasting rights to show every match, meaning the action will not be available on normal terrestrial or satellite television.
An Amazon Prime membership is available for £7.99 a month, or fans can sign up for a 30-day free trial that can be cancelled before paying for a subscription.
What if I don't have Amazon Prime?
