The 2019 French Open gets underway in Paris on Sunday to mark the return of Roger Federer at Roland Garros after a four-year absence, with women’s second seed Karolina Pliskova and three-time Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber also in action.

The build-up to the second Grand Slam of the year has been blighted with withdrawals, with Andy Murray already absent as he continues his recovery from hip surgery and the likes of Nick Kyrgios and Katie Boulter joining him in recent days.

But the men’s draw still features the big attractions of Novak Djokovic, defending champion Rafael Nadal and Federer, who returns to the clay court tournament for the first time since his quarter-final exit in 2015.

The women’s draw is without former French Open champion Maria Sharapova due to injury, while 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams arrives in Paris with her own injury concerns – though she will begin her campaign against Vitalia Diatchenko on Monday regardless.

Here’s how Sunday’s order of play shapes up on Court Philippe Vhatrier, Court Suzanna Lenglen, Court Simonne Mathieu and the surrounding courts.
