Sports Listings: Saturday / Athletics: International cross-country, Chester-le-Street

This year the County Durham International cross-country meeting, staged tomorrow at the Beamish Museum, Chester-le-Street, will comprise 13 races. Haile Gebreselassie, the world 10,000-metre champion from Ethiopia, meets Britain's leading distance runners in the men's 9km World Cross Challenge. On the line will be Eamonn Martin, the 1993 London Marathon winner, his fellow internationals, Rob Denmark and Paul Evans, and the specialists, Dave Lewis, Andrew Pearson and Steve Tunstall. In the senior women's 5km race, Paula Radcliffe, the 1992 junior world champion, faces Zola Budd-Pieterse.

How to get there: Beamish Museum is two miles from Chester-le-Street. From the North and South, follow A1(M) to Chester-le-Street turn-off and Beamish Museum signs along A693 towards Stanley. From the North-West, take A68 south towards Castleside, near Consett; then left on A692, following signs on to A693. Spectating is free. The 'Tiny Tim' fun run opens the meeting at 10.40am; the men's 3.6km race is at 1.20pm, the women's World Cross Challenge at 1.50pm and the men's at 2.25pm.
