Sports Letters: Somme mistake

Sir: In 'Sporting Ghosts of Christmas Past' (27 December) Rob Steen informs us that in 1914 British and German soldiers played football in no man's land during a Yuletide truce at the height of the Battle of the Somme. The battle, though, took place two years later.
