Sports Letters: For batter or worse

Sir: As interest, enthusiasm and (very) cautious optimism mount at the prospect of the Ashes series against Australia, we must beware a terrible word which seemed to arrive during the Texaco Trophy series. It is 'batters'. Len Hutton (among many others) must be turning in his grave.
