CHRIS WILKINSON, who was briefly ranked No 1 in Britain this year, has parted company with his coach, Jonathan Smith, and enlisted the Australian Gary Custer in an attempt to halt his decline. Wilkinson became Britain's top player after Wimbledon, but a series of poor results since then has seen him fail to maintain the improvement and he has fallen behind Jeremy Bates and Mark Petchey to No 124 in the world rankings.
