AMY FRAZIER, of the United States, who is ranked No 26 in the world, won the Virginia Slims tournament in Los Angeles when she beat her compatriot, Ann Grossman, 6-1, 6-3. On her way to victory Frazier put out the event's top three players, Germany's Anke Huber, Belgian Sabine Appelmans and Conchita Martinez, the Wimbledon champion and world No 3 from Spain.
