JIM COURIER, the top seed, from the United States, was knocked out of the Spanish Open yesterday by the unseeded Spanish teenager, Alex Corretja. Courier, who had spent a week practising on clay in Monte Carlo to prepare for the tournament, lost his second-round match 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to the 19-year-old, who is ranked No 62 in the world.
