Steve Davis, the oldest player in snooker's top 32 men, removed Mark Williams from the British Open in Plymouth last night. The six-times world champion, who celebrated his 42nd birthday last month, denied the Welshman a quarter-final place after a vintage display. The world No15's 5-2 victory contained a top break of 119 and other telling contributions of 94, 57 and 66.
