Northampton have signed Colin Hill, the former Leicester, Arsenal and Northern Ireland defender, after his return from a spell in Sweden with IFK Gothenburg, and are talking terms with Jason Dozzell, the former Tottenham midfielder released by Ipswich last week.

Nottingham Forest have let their winger Chris Allen, 25, join Luton on a month's loan.

The Ipswich striker Neil Gregory has joined Peterborough on a month's loan.

Millwall's assistant manager Pat Holland, the former West Ham midfielder, has left the club to take charge of Tottenham's youth team.

The teenage midfielder David Curtolo has joined Aston Villa for a nominal fee from the Swedish side Vasteras after a brief trial at Villa Park. Villa will make further payments for the 17-year-old if he breaks into the first team.
