The Bradford City manager, Paul Jewell, is looking for a loan replacement for his goalkeeper, Gary Walsh, who has had a knee operation and will not return until the new year.

Jimmy Calderwood has been appointed coach at Dunfermline.

Steve Bruce has been named First Division manager of the month. Bruce's Huddersfield team picked up five league victories, including notable wins over Manchester City and Ipswich, during November with only one defeat. They are currently placed second in the First Division. Gillingham's Peter Taylor, the former England Under-21 boss, was named Second Division manager of the month, while Kevin Wilson of Northampton picked up the Third Division award.

Billy Davies has been named the Scottish Premier League manager of the month for November. His Motherwell side have climbed to fourth in the table following a series of victories in recent weeks. The Rangers defender Craig Moore has been voted the SPL Player of the Month.

Nwankwo Kanu has won the African Footballer of the Year award. It is the second time the 23-year-old Arsenal and Nigerian striker has won the award after captaining Nigeria's under-23 team to the 1996 Olympic title in Atlanta.
