MIKE DITKA, the former Chicago Bears coach, was released from hospital in Lake Forest, Illinois, yesterday, three days after experiencing chest pains. Ditka, 54, suffered a mild heart attack in the middle of the 1988 season but recovered in 11 days to coach the Bears to a 12-4 league-best record and the NFC title game. He became a television analyst after being fired as coach following the 1992 season.
