FRANCOIS DELECOUR, of France, won the 1993 Portuguese Rally yesterday.

Delecour, driving a Ford Escort, led after the first day of the 2,164km (1,341 miles) rally and secured the first world championship racing of his career in a time of 6hr 20min 37sec.
