BRENTFORD yesterday made offers totalling nearly pounds 400,000 for two players. They have offered a Premier League side pounds 275,000 for an unnamed striker and have agreed a six-figure fee with Wolves for the the experienced defender, Shane Westley.

CESAR MENOTTI has withdrawn his resignation as coach of Mexico 24 hours after stepping down.
