SUNDERLAND are facing competition from Sheffield United for Oxford United's central defender Andrew Melville. The Roker Park club had agreed a fee of pounds 500,000 for the Welsh international, with Northern Ireland's Anton Rogan due to go to Oxford as part of the deal, but Melville is now talking terms with the Sheffield club, whose manager Dave Bassett is also checking out Arsenal's Steve Bould.
