Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Want to improve your backstroke, connect with other swimmers, and get inspired by tips from Olympic champions? Speedo has created an interactive, online club for swimmers of all levels to fine-tune your form, meet others, and also promote new Speedo merchandise.

The Speedo Pace Club, which just went live last week, can be accessed both through its website and via an iPhone app.

Available for free, the Speedo Pace Club lets users form a virtual swim team via Facebook to connect with others, share tips, offer support, and motivate each other to achieve their swimming goals. You can support fellow swimmers with virtual high fives, for instance.

The site also offers training modules, including three months of workouts for all swimming levels, along with videos featuring Olympic coaches and champion American swimmers Jessica Hardy and Dana Vollmer. You can also access blogs by Speedo-sponsored swimmers, including Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Natalie Coughlin, Christine Magnuson, and Hardy and Vollmer.

US users can also rely on the app to find information, including user reviews, on pools at the 1,200 clubs that Speedo sponsors in addition to some 1,500 other pools.

Another free app for swimmers is Go Swim, which features videos on how to improve your technique, a "fan wall" that allows you to connect with other swimmers around the world, and weekly inspiration in the form of photos, articles, and tips.
