ALLY McCOIST and Duncan Ferguson, the Rangers strikers, will step up their comebacks from injury at Ibrox today. McCoist, who has started six games in 10 months due to two major injuries, resumes his partnership with Mark Hateley as Rangers face Alloa in the fourth round of the Tennents Scottish Cup.
Ferguson, who cost more than pounds 4m from Dundee United last summer but has not played first-team football since September, is almost certain to be on the bench. Walter Smith, the Rangers manager, has recalled McCoist after Gordon Durie failed a fitness test. 'He's coming back at an important time and it's good to see him back. He is looking sharp,' Smith said of McCoist.
