Tom Voyce scored two tries as Wasps plunged Leeds deeper into relegation trouble. The Yorkshire side are now 11 points adrift at the foot of the table.

Tries from Voyce's fellow wing Paul Sackey and the full-back Mark van Gisbergen secured the bonus point with the other Wasps tries, with Van Gisbergen converting all four.

It took Wasps four minutes to take the lead, a powerful rolling maul setting up the opening try. The England lock Simon Shaw broke off the back and Wasps worked the ball the width of the pitch through Jeremy Staunton, Josh Lewsey and Van Gisbergen, before Voyce touched down in the left-hand corner.

Sixteen minutes later Stuart Abbott provided the final pass for Sackey to touch down near the right-hand corner flag. The first-half loss of Sackey, who aggravated a hamstring he tweaked in the warm-up, and the flanker Tom Rees, who went to hospital for an X-ray on his left leg, failed to unsettle Wasps.

Leeds were denied a try just before half-time when their left wing Tom Biggs, chasing his own kick, was pulled back by Shaw, who was sent to the sin bin. Leeds elected to kick for touch and drive for the line, but they spilled the ball.

Shaw's blatant infringement looked a good case for a penalty try, but Leeds failed to take advantage during his absence. Back to full strength, Wasps struck in the 55th minute when Voyce intercepted a pass from the Leeds full-back Roland de Marigny to run 40 metres unchallenged.

De Marigny and Chris Bell went close for Leeds but Wasps secured the bonus point with a 79th-minute try by Van Gisbergen, who kicked his fourth conversion from wide on the left.

Leeds's frustration spilled over as they were involved in a couple of heated exchanges in the closing minutes. Their Welsh flanker, Richard Parks, was sent off in injury time.

After showing the former Pontypridd player a yellow card for a defensive infringement, the referee Ashley Rowden brandished the red card for dissent.
